Valkyrie is a 2002 Catana 582 Ocean Class. Similar to the 581 with additional luxury features. Located in NYC – United States. Customs duty paid, state sales tax paid – British VAT paid by previous owner.

This is an owner’s version – starboard hull has extensive space for main bunk and huge bathroom, and laundry room – and locking door!. Port side has two similarly sized cabins with en-suite bathrooms, and doors! Another “skipper’s” cabin is accessible through a deck hatch forward of the main cabin on the starboard side.

April 2018 Survey by insurance company – found in great condition. Also surveyed by Coast Guard – with similar results. Survey available upon request.

The Catanas, specifically the 582 series are, IMO, the best ocean cruising vessels available, Along with the major and extremely beneficial enhancements I have made, make this probably the best Ocean Cruiser available. Easily shorthanded operation – for one person – 2 not a problem…Whether local waters or Ocean cruising, and its ready to go – now – 5 minutes notice and we can cross and Ocean.

And you can, too.

As far as cosmetics. Many items have been changed, however, I wouldn’t mind replacing the ceiling, curtains, and a few other cosmetics are a bit shabby.  But, engines, steering, motoring sailing, electronics, navigation it is perfect and ready to go. Has a fresh coat of bottom paint, zincs, and Max-Prop grease (I usually grease the props by snorkel) while being surveyed in April 2018

We do several 4-hour captained (by me) charters per summer in the protected waters of the Hampton’s. People love it. Great to see and feel how wonderful the vessel is through others’ experiences. Comments such as “This is the best day of my life”, ” I’m having so much fun”, etc, etc.

It is a large and beautiful vessel, very safe and sturdy.

Valkyrie is docked in NYC for 2018 , except for July/August in Sag Harbor, NY

Disclaimer: Our “For Sale By Owner” (FSBO) Listings are published purely as an additional service to Catamaran Guru readership. Catamaran Guru does not act as the broker in these transactions. Catamaran Guru is not responsible for the accuracy of the listings and has no control over responsiveness or lack thereof from the boat owners.

PROFESSIONAL REPRESENTATION FOR YACHT BUYERS

Not all sellers use a broker, but it is very beneficial for buyers to utilize the knowledge and negotiation expertise of a broker. There are many facets involved in purchasing a yacht, for example; depending on where the boat is registered, there can be obstacles in documentation, surveys and more. Additionally, using a broker is not an extra expense as it should be worked into the price of the boat.
