The Granocean W-60’s Epic Delivery to Sydney & a Visit to The Factory

Powercat Guru’s Visit to the GranOcean Factory

Jeremy Tutt has headed over to China this week to oversee two of our recent orders to be delivered this year and will share exclusive insights about the manufacturing facility, the progress on the new builds and new innovations from the factory.

As we discussed before, GranOcean has more than 20 years of experience in catamaran construction and is now producing powercats that rival brands like Horizon in quality but at a significantly lower price. But while they leverage the cost advantages of manufacturing in China, they do not compromise on quality. The GranOcean W-60, fully equipped, is available for around $2.1 million USD, making it one of the most competitive luxury power catamarans on the market.

GranOcean ships worldwide, with recent deliveries to Hong Kong, Sydney, and to Tampa, Florida and two more deliveries in the pipeline to the USA this year. Expect to see the W-60 in the powerboat show in Fort Lauderdale in November 2025!

The W-60’s Epic Arrival in Sydney

The GranOcean W-60 has just arrived in Sydney after an incredible shakedown cruise from Hong Kong on its own bottom! This milestone not only celebrates the first W-60 in Australia but also underscores the superior engineering, smooth ride, and unbeatable value that GranOcean power catamarans offer. Owners Gavin and Christine Terrill graciously shared their experience from how they chose their boat, the build process and the delivery

Here is what they had to say about fuel efficiency:Despite being a relatively heavy boat we are pleased with the fuel efficiency at cruising speed of our twin Cummins 550’s. At one point, with a 2 knot assist from the East Coast Current and the 10-knot wind at our back, I noticed we were travelling at 12 knots/hour consuming 18.5 l/hour (4.9 gallons/hour) for an impressive 0.65 nautical miles per liter (2.5 nautical miles per gallon). More typically we are  seeing 1.5 nautical miles per gallon at that speed so with our 1453 gallon tanks we have around a 1500 nautical mile range”.

They also remarked that “one of the biggest advantages of GranOcean power catamarans is their semi-custom build process. Owners can tailor the layout to their specific needs. We had a long list of “must haves” and “would like to haves”, including a front cockpit and GranOcean accommodated us with most of our ideas”.

Their blog is a wealth of information, and they are happy to share their experiences onboard Pikorua.

We are super excited about the next W-60 power catamaran arriving in Tampa in May 2025. This will be a great opportunity to explore these powercats right here in Florida!
