NEW: Lagoon 450 SporTop – No Flybridge!
Lagoon Catamarans announced two new models for Fall 2015. The enormously popular Lagoon 450 and 52 Flybridge versions are still available. But Lagoon acknowledged that they needed to fill a need in the market for a non-flybridge option like is available from their competitors with Fountaine Pajot’s Helia 44.
Lagoon needed a catamaran for a short-handed crew and designed the 450 and 52 Sport Tops to fit the bill. Many of the same good characteristics Lagoon fans appreciate remain. The sail areas are the same. However, the lower mast and boom reduces pitching and makes the boom easier to access.
Unlike the Flybridge versions, the fitted steering position fixed on the cabin-top aft bulkhead allows easy access to the cockpit area and is secured with an opening safety gate, allowing easy access to the deck while being secure during bad weather. The interior layouts have changed with larger galley areas and more storage.
