“Frou-Frou” Interior Walk-Through of our Bali 5.8

Come aboard our Bali 5.8 and get a glimpse into our life on the water! In this video, we’re celebrating Stephen’s birthday with friends, but we’ll also take you on a tour of our amazing catamaran.

See how we prepare for a dinner party, from setting the elegant table with crystal glasses to utilizing our built-in cocktail bar. We’ll show you our efficient galley, owner’s suite with king-size bed and rain shower, and the ample storage throughout the boat. Plus, see how we cater to different tastes and preferences on board.

While I our boat is not quite properly setup exactly the way I want it, it is certainly ready to operate and good enough for us to have a dinner party! Let’s start in the heart of the boat – the galley. See how we prepare for a feast in this well-equipped space. We’re particularly excited about our very water-efficient dishwasher. You’ll also spot our Nespresso machine for that essential coffee, and Stephen’s prized wine fridge, crucial for keeping our South African and French wines and champagne in perfect condition. We even have a separate station for mixing cocktails, complete with icemaker, all the decorations, martini shakers, and special liqueurs. This is a work in progress and we will likely build it out

The galley is full of all the modern equipment we need to cook a full course gourmet meal, including a four-burner stove, oven, air fryer, and convection oven. Storage is abundant, with overhead cabinets, storage space under the floorboards, and full-size fridges and freezers. Tonight, Jana, our chef, is preparing a special meal, starting with appetizers like blue cheese and pear with prosciutto, and homemade blini with caviar.

The main course is braised short rib with pumpkin purée (and potato mash for Stephen!), followed by chocolate mousse for dessert. Setting the table is an art form here! We choose our linens carefully, aiming for a soft, ocean-like feel. Storage is a key feature of this boat, with immense space for wine, food, and spare parts. We even have different themes for our table settings, from pirates to elegant dinners.

Upstairs on the flybridge, we have another bar, fridge, and cockpit chairs. For our living arrangements, we opted for an owner’s suite that spans the entire hull. Our king-size bed comfortably fits Stephen, who is six foot four and a half.

The suite also features a work desk, lots of storage, a separate toilet, and a beautiful bathroom with a rain shower and double sinks. We also have three double cabins for guests, each with its own en suite bathroom. The crew cabin is located forward and also has its own en-suite.

If you want to learn about the build of the boat, the systems etc. this technical video  with Stephen is a great opportunity to take a look “under the hood” of the Bali 5.8. Check out the specifications and different layouts for the Bali 5.8 model here>>
