So get out your sweater and put your cocktail shaker to use.
Pear & Allspice Martinis
Spiced Sugar Rim
On a small plate combine:
- 2 T sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp allspice
Pass a lemon wedge around the rim of two chilled martini glasses.
Dip the rim of each glass in the spiced sugar.
Martinis for Two
- 1/2 cup pear vodka or brandy
- 2 tsp pimento (allspice) dram or substitute spiced rum
- 1 T fresh lemon juice
- 1 T simple syrup
- 2 cups ice cubes
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker combine all martini ingredients.
- Cover and shake until very cold.
- Strain into chilled sugar-rimmed glasses.
- Garnish with thin slices of pear.
Cranberry-Lime Mules
Cranberry Muddle
- 1 cup whole cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 lime wedges
- 2 tsp sugar
In a shaker or small pitcher, muddle until cranberries about a minute.
Mules for Two
- Add 1 cup of ice and 1 cup of non-alcoholic spirit such as Seedlip or Wilderton or 4 shots of vodka.
- Shake or stir until very cold.
- Divide mixture between two copper mugs or glasses.
- Add ice and top off with a chilled 12-oz. can of “extra spicy” ginger beer.
- Stir and garnish with cranberries and a lime slice.
Apple Cider Margarita
For 1 Margarita
- cinnamon sugar and flaky sea salt, for the rim
- 2 oz silver tequila or mezcal (tip: most shot glasses are about 1.5 oz)
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur
- 1/2 cup (4 oz) apple cider
juice from 1/2 a lime - 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup to taste
- thin apple slices, rosemary, cinnamon sticks, or your choice for garnish
Instructions
- Salty Cinnamon Sugar Rim – Mix equal parts cinnamon sugar and sea salt in a flat dish. Pass a lime wedge around the glass rim then dip in the sugar/salt mixture.
- The Margarita – Combine all ingredients but the garnish in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake to combine. Strain into the glass. Garnish with apple slices, rosemary, cinnamon sticks, or any fall inspiration.
