Christmas Jones Cocktail Recipe

christmas jones cocktail

Though perfect for the holidays, this drink has nothing to do with Christmas. Its namesake is Dr. Christmas Jones, a fictional nuclear physicist who appeared in the 1999 James Bond film, The World is Not Enough. Denise Richards’ portrayal was highly criticized as not being believable (even received a Razzie award), so perhaps that is the reason for the name. This drink is unbelievably easy and tasty.

Fruity, light, and delightfully refreshing any time of the year. Fresh strawberries rather than frozen work best and, if you have a juicer, fresh pineapple juice taste best. But the small cans of pineapple juice will work. The sweetness of this drink is perfect with a fiery version of our party snack Fire Crackers recipe.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 5 ounces pineapple juice
  • 4-6 fresh strawberries, depending on size
  • 2 teaspoons superfine sugar or equivalent sugar substitute
  • 3 to 4 ounces lemon-lime soda, to taste
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a blender, whir the vodka, pineapple juice, strawberries, and sugar together.
  2. Pour the mix equally into two goblets or highball glasses.
  3. Top with lemon-lime soda (7Up or store brand).
  4. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
  5. Enjoy!
  6. Repeat!
