Few things in life will put a bigger smile on my friends’ faces than a good chocolate dessert. Not only does this creamy chocolate treat taste utterly decadent, it’s made of wholesome, natural ingredients and is incredibly easy to make. I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical at first but I decided to make this avocado chocolate mousse and now I am a believer! The mousse turned out rich, creamy, chocolatey with no real avocado taste. This mousse is perfect for a chocolate lover and it definitely merits second helpings!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Hass avocadoes
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- Select 1 sweetener to use:
- 1/4 cup maple syrup, honey, or karo syrup
- 1/4 cup equivalent of a no-calorie or low-calorie sweetener (personal favorite for taste is monkfruit/stevia/erithytol blend you can get on Amazon if not in your grocery).
- 3 to 4 Tbsp almond milk, try 3, then add more if needed because avocados vary in size
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- optional: add a few drops of extract to taste such as almond, orange, or rum extract (experiment!)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of unsweetened grated coconut to serve OR add your favorite berries…or both!
DIRECTIONS
- Blend all ingredients except the garnishes of coconut and/or berries.
- Serve adding the grated coconut and/or berries.
