Catamaran Guru to Acquire Catana Ocean Class 50 at Cannes Yachting Festival
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Fort Lauderdale, FL – 10 August 2022 – Catamaran Guru, through its sister company Ocean Multihulls, has been appointed the exclusive agent for Catana Catamarans in the USA. Stephen and Estelle Cockcroft, the principals of Catamaran Guru, bring 50+ years of catamaran experience and a highly seasoned team to represent the renowned Catana brand through their new yacht dealership, Ocean Multihulls. Specializing in Catana and Bali Catamarans, Ocean Multihulls is a Texas yacht dealership with offices in both Kemah and Fort Lauderdale.
Catana is back with very innovative and interesting catamaran designs that build on the shipyard’s 30-year reputation of high-quality performance blue-water passage-makers. Catana started building catamarans in 1984 and is now based in Canet en Roussillon, France. With the help of legendary Australian multihull designer Lock Crowther early on, Catana became the world leaders in fast performance cruising catamarans. Owner Olivier Poncin has taken Catana to the next level and is responsible for their iconic reputation and their focus on producing fast, comfortable blue ocean catamarans.
The Catamaran Guru team is so impressed with Catana’s newest offerings that they purchased a stock boat that will be available to view at the 2022 Cannes and Barcelona shows as well as the 2023 Miami and Annapolis boat shows. The boat will be available for test sails, sailing education and viewing year-round in Florida/Annapolis.
