How beneficial is a BoatUS membership for sailors? Well, we found out just how valuable a service that is while sailing in the Chesapeake Bay with our friends on their catamaran. We were nearing the Bay Bridge, motoring back to Annapolis

Jennifer Clack’s Gulfstream: Don’t leave port without it!
Professional Satellite Oceanographer Jenifer Clark and professional Meteorologist Dane Clark have both supported the 
marine community for more than 30 years. They provide mariners real-time ocean charts and weather forecasts for sailboat racing, boat deliveries, ocean cruising, and offshore fishing. Using infrared imagery, satellite altimetry data, and surface isotherm data, oceanographic analyses are produced and available for the Gulf Stream area and all the major currents of the world. Waypoints are also provided for taking advantage of favorable currents and for avoiding unfavorable ones.
Jenifer Clark, affectionately known as “The Gulfstream Lady”, has spent the last four decades studying, analyzing and forecasting the World’s Ocean Currents. In the mid-90’s after NOAA decided to cease the production of daily Gulfstream charts, she left NOAA and started her own company to continue to serve her clients and users with real-time Gulfstream information. In 2006, Jenifer provided special ocean support to over 120 Racers in the 100th year anniversary of the Newport to Bermuda Sailboat Race.
Dane Clark has spent 38-years as a Professional Meteorologist/Forecaster and Manager. He holds a BS, MS and MBA degrees and has received several prestigious awards including a NOAA Bronze Medal and the NOAA Administrators Award. Dane is considered an expert in Tropical and Marine Meteorology.
Dane and Jenifer Clark have teamed up to provide weather and ocean support for numerous marine events and they will provide weather for our Rally North from the Abacos, Bahamas this year. We have full confidence in their ability to provide the best possible forecast for our boat owners. Steve Black, founder of the Cruising Rally Association, was quoted in Soundings Magazine as saying : “We used her analysis for all the events and it was invaluable.
