JAMU is a charter version Leopard 42 catamaran, built to The Moorings charter specifications in 2004. She was managed in charter by The Moorings in Croatia and Belize for 5 years. Upon 2008 phaseout, the owners added upgrades and cruised her seasonally in Central America and the US Gulf Coast about 3 months a year for 12 years. Jamu is an Indonesian herbal medicine which is
available in many different formulations to cure illness or to enhance health. The owners feel this boat has done just that for them.

Designed by Robertson & Caine as a cruising catamaran, JAMU has a four-cabin layout with the salon and galley on the bridge-deck. Main cabin arrangements are two double cabins forward and aft with an additional single berth in each forepeak. Each forward cabin has an island bed and separate head and shower compartment. The stb forward head is electric fresh water flush. The port aft cabin has been
reconfigured as workshop/storage with a washing machine installed in place of the head. The stb aft cabin has a double berth, and the head has been removed to create a larger shower compartment.

The wide beam provides wrap around seating at the salon table for eight and a spacious u-shaped galley opposite. On deck JAMU has a roomy cockpit with steering station to starboard and walkthrough transom to the aft boarding platform. Sailing systems are easily controlled from the mast and cockpit with a furling genoa and full battened mainsail with lazy-jacks. Shallow draft and performance is provided by low aspect ratio keels. The cockpit is covered by a custom fiberglass hardtop which provides full access to the boom and mainsail.
