2022 All-Catamaran Rendezvous Event

Dreaming of that refreshing coconut cocktail on a beautiful balmy island beach? The long wait is finally over. We have set a date for the next Catamaran Guru Rendezvous in the ABACOS, BAHAMAS and we can’t wait to see you all there. ALL catamaran sailors are welcome! Mark your calendars for May 15 – 19, 2022

RENDEZVOUS ITINERARY

• What: “PINK WELCOME PARTY” sponsored by Bail Catamarans
• When:  Sunday May 15, 2022, 4:00 pm
• Where: Hopetown Inn and Anchorage

Details:  Dinghy into Hopetown Marina Inn and meet at the Hideaway Pool for drinks and Appetizers and local music.  You will register and pick up your Swag Bag including the sun shirts (if you want more than one shirt, please email to the attention of Sharon asap!). Come as PINK (“MANgenta” for the men) AS YOU CAN, as this is the Bali Catamaran color! Anything pink will do, i.e. bandanna, dress, shirt, hat, etc. Have your individual or group photos taken at our coconut tree “photobooth”. Big prizes will be given for the Best Pink Picture so be creative! Skippers briefing for the race will be held at 5:30 pm. Bring your dollar bills for the Raffle that will benefit the Hope Town Youth Sailing Club.

• What: “RUMBRELLA RACE DAY & GAMES” sponsored by Lagoon Catamarans
• When:  Monday May 16, 2022, 11am
• Where:  Tahiti Beach Anchorage

The fleet migrates towards Tahiti Beach on Elbow Cay on Monday morning to anchor off the beach. Details:  Look for our very own Puff the Magic Dragon floating off Tahiti Beach and grab a cup of our special “Hooligan Juice”! Now let the races begin!  Bring your favorite floaties (duck, swan, arm bands) or paddleboards for the “Rumbrella” races. Lagoon Catamarans provides the “sail” (umbrella). During the races, we will enjoy the best Burgers in Paradise served by Thirsty Cuda.  Beach games, Coconut Toss competition, prizes and our famous Hooligan Juice! Beach bonfire at 6pm.

• What: “RENDEZVOUS REGATTA” sponsored by North Sails
• When: Tuesday May 17, 2022, 10 am
• Where: Race from Elbow Cay to No Name Cay (Pig Island)

The fleet gets together at the start line for the regatta at 9am. Please stand by on VHF Channel 67 Details: Skippers briefing will be given at the opening party with instructions and route. The race will take approximately 3 hours, which gives us an approximate ETA of 2pm to Great Guana Cay. North Sails sponsor prizes and trophies. After the race, we will anchor out. This is a “free” afternoon to visit the famous Grabbers & Nippers. There will be a rubber duckie hunt in the anchorage. The luckiest ducks will win prizes! At sundown, we will raft our dinghies up off the stern of Zuri and enjoy Sundowners (Hooligan Juice) and music on our dinghies behind Zuri.

• What: “SEMINARS AND FAREWELL PARTY” sponsored by Catamaran Guru
• When: Wednesday May 18, 2022, 12 noon
• Where: Tranquil Turtle Beach Bar, Green Turtle Cay

The fleet migrates to Green Turtle Cay (approx. 12 NM or 3hrs sail max) Anchor off New Plymouth settlement or anchor off the beach at Tranquil Turtle Beach Bar. There are also some slips available in the Bluff House marina inside the lagoon. Details: 12-2pm This will be a day of knowledge sharing with Bob Meagher from North Sails demonstrating sail trim and spinnakers on Zuri. Steele Greyling will teach flag etiquette and rules of the road OR you can visit the colorful settlement in New Plymouth by golf cart. 3-4pm Dinghy Parade – Decorate your crew and your dinghy and sail past Zuri for an awesome prize! Be creative! Come along to the party with your “fancy dress”! 5pm Head over to Tranquil Turtle Beach Bar for dinner, prize giving, music and evening bonfire on the beach. When: Thursday May 19- BON VOYAGE! Zuri 3 will sail to Manjack Cay for some R & R.  All are welcome to join us and continue the party or explore the Abacos on your own!
