How to do the conversion from manual to electric heads

jabsco toiletThe conversion of manual toilets to electric toilets is a relatively easy process as the plumbing will remain the same as long as you choose to keep the water used for flushing the same (Salt). In the case of a boat that is normally used in Blue Water, salt water is appropriate. If the boat will be used more often in Brackish/Bay water it may be a good idea to switch to fresh water flush as it reduces the common toilet smell found on boats. We normally suggest the use of the Jabsco Quiet Flush unit when converting to the automatic flush toilet.

The entire head itself will need to be removed and a new Jabsco Quiet flush unit installed (There is a conversion kit option in some cases but with only a $ 30.00 difference between an entire unit vs a Conversion Kit it makes sense to go all new). All the old plumbing is used to connect the toilet. Electrically a power source will be required, normally the house battery bank. A dedicated breaker will be needed for the toilet/s. A new flush switch will be installed in an appropriate location for flushing the new toilet. You can normally expect a conversion to take between 5-8 hours depending on wire runs and any possible complications.
