11 metres long and incorporating all of the technological advances made over recent years, the Mahé 36 Evolution is a reasonably priced offshore catamaran. Based on an Olivier Flahault design and with a Joubert/Nivelt hull, it is built for safe navigation with comfortable, bright living areas and a fully protected cockpit alongside the salon. The Mahé 36 allows you to move around freely onboard, enjoying comfort when navigating (at the helm, in the cockpit or down below) or while moored. It also boasts excellent sailing performance.

We're monohull sailors thinking of taking the plunge and sailing around the world on a cat. Is a Mahe 36 large enough for offshore passage? Lived aboard a 32 monohull so living space in not the issue.

Thanks for your input,
Tom

Yes a Mahe is more than enough boat to sail around the world. However, you can probably do better for the same amount of money, i.e. The Mahe goes for between $145,000 to $250,000 depending on equipment. You can get an Island Spirit 40 or Lagoon 400 within that price range. Both are very robust blue water sailing boats, has much more volume (comfort at sea) and does very well in terms of performance. Having said that, your insurance, dockage and maintenance will be slightly more but not by much, so it will behoove you to look at all those options.
I hope that helps. Let me know i we can help with anything else.
